Making Meaning Webinar – This Thurs (11/12)

Here’s hoping that you get to attend this week’s MLTI Lenses Webinar. As stated in the title, the focus of this week’s webinar will be Making Meaning. In particular, Phil Brookhouse will be zooming in on “Representing Reality – Models and Simulations.” Rationales and examples of different models and simulations in social studies and science will be examined. Two guests will be joining us from the Foundation for Blood Research. Dr. Walter Allan and Jeri Erickson will talk about how they worked to make meaning with Maine Explorer – an application and curriculum about ecological models. The webinar will be offered twice at 3:15 and 7:15 PM.

    Is this anything I can use with Foreign Language instruction?

    I am not sure. There may possibly be models and simulations in other languages that students could interact with. In any case, you can access the recordings of the webinars to see if you can use any of the information.
